Aiming to appeal to convenience-seeking college students, Aramark has acquired Good Uncle, a food delivery company centered around higher-ed campuses.

The app-based service, which debuted in 2016, is currently available on eight campuses in Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware and Maryland.

When placing an order, students choose from designated pickup spots on or near their campus, according to Good Uncle’s website, which notes an average delivery span of 26 minutes. Its rotating offerings are centrally prepared and include pastas, salads, customizable bowls, and desserts, as well as weekend brunch dishes.

“Good Uncle strengthens our ability to offer quality and convenience through services that allow our college consumers to order restaurant-quality food and have it delivered when and where they want it on campus,” Aramark President and CEO Eric Foss said in a statement.

Delivery has become a growing area of interest among college students, according to recent Technomic data, with 42% of them saying they would like delivery to be an option at more campus eateries.
