Non-commercial foodservice operators are working harder and harder to offer diners the foods they want to eat. But with labor shortages and the cost of labor ever on the rise, it can be difficult for operators to balance the needs of the kitchen and the desire consumers have to eat great food. Thankfully, there are ways to ease the burden on kitchen staff, and one way is by using fully cooked products like Tyson® Precision Cooked™ Chicken and other speed-scratch items, like soup bases or premade sauces.
Why fully cooked?
By using prepared chicken instead of cooking it from scratch, kitchens can create an array of high-protein chicken dishes in a fraction of the time, and can even expand the menu to feature new or trending ingredients.
Tyson® Precision Cooked™ Chicken is available in three premium options—a portioned breast, a thigh, and ready-to-pull thigh portions. All options are prepared using the French Sous Vide style of cooking to deliver a juicy and flavorful end product, and are All-Natural*, with No Antibiotics Ever.
Best of all, no additional equipment is needed when using fully cooked chicken. Kitchen staff can simply add sauces or spices, or pile atop bread to make a delicious sandwich, all in less time than it would take to cook a similar dish from scratch.
Menu versatility
Premium fully cooked chicken works across the menu, from appetizers to entrees, salads to soup toppings and more.
For instance, with pre-cooked chicken, operators can serve up items like these in just minutes:
Asian lettuce wraps: Chopped chicken breasts or thighs can be mixed with Asian flavors like soy sauce, ginger and sesame, as well as veggies like cabbage and carrots. The mixture can be placed into Bibb lettuce leaves for a delicious appetizer or entree.
Barbecue chicken flatbread pizza: Ready-to-pull chicken thighs, drizzled with smoky barbecue sauce, can be piled atop flatbread, along with mozzarella cheese and red onions.
Buffalo chicken sandwiches: Start with a delicious pretzel roll or brioche bun, then dip Tyson® Precision Cooked™ Chicken breasts in spicy buffalo sauce. Place the chicken on the bun and top with blue cheese or ranch, lettuce and tomato.
By starting with fully cooked chicken and other pre-made products, like sauces, soup bases or pre-made pastas, operators can try offering new dishes with ethnic flavors, indulgent comfort foods, protein-topped salads and so much more, all without spending hours in the kitchen. With virtually no prep time involved, it’s easier than ever to offer the flavors and dishes customers are clamoring for.
