Firehouse Subs
Jacksonville, Fla.

While Firehouse Subs’ restaurants in the U.S. don’t open for breakfast, the chain’s locations in Puerto Rico do serve morning eaters. The “Desayuno” menu includes four full breakfasts and assorted pastries and sides. One of the most popular items is the overstuffed steak and egg sandwich on a toasted sub roll.

Ingredients

1/2 onion, sliced
1/2 green bell pepper, sliced
2 oz. thinly sliced seasoned and cooked steak
1 6-in. sub roll, toasted
1-2 oz. sliced provolone cheese
1/2 cup scrambled eggs

Steps

1. In skillet, heat oil. Add onions and peppers; saute until tender-crisp.
2. Steam steak until hot; place on bottom of roll. Layer on sauteed onions and peppers; top with provolone and melt cheese.
3. Place scrambled eggs over cheese and close sandwich with top of roll.
