A steaming bowl of these slow cooked beans is a true delight. Slow cooked with bacon and molasses the beans are tender and full of flavor.

Ingredients

3⁄4 lb. onions
1⁄4 lb. bacon
1 1⁄4 lb. navy beans  
5 oz. molasses
6 oz. maple syrup
2 oz. mustard
4 oz. ketchup
2 oz. worcestershire
2 oz. brown sugar
 

Steps

1. In a large skillet, sauté onions and bacon until brown and caramelized.

2. Transfer onions, bacon and remaining ingredients to a large pot and cover with water to 2 in. over top of beans. Cover and bake overnight in a 275° F. oven, approx. 8-10 hr.
