UGA Mom Dominates School's "Taste of Home" Competition

After winning eight times over the years, UGA alumna Laura Bennewitz earned her 15 minutes of fame in the UFA video.

The classic “Taste of Home” promotion run annually by University of Georgia Food Services scales up selected recipes submitted by students' families. UGA alumna Laura Bennewitz of Watkinsville, GA, has had eight recipes selected over the years her two sons attended the school.

You can watch as Laura makes a savory green bean casserole at home while UGA Chef Shelly Orozco-Marrs simultaneously prepares the dish at UGA on a much, much larger scale (think 93 lbs. of green beans, 9 lbs. of water chestnuts…)
