Oct. 10—Sodexo will pull out of its contract with Columbus City Schools on Dec. 21, according to The Columbus Dispatch. Sodexo’s contract with the state’s largest district began in the 2009-2010 school year and contained a provision for Sodexo to opt out. Sodexo’s contract with the district was for $13 million a year. According to the paper, the school district will take over the foodservice department.

While Sodexo officials did not tell The Columbus Dispatch why it was pulling out of its contract, the paper suggests it was because the food management company was not able to turn the struggling program around financially.
