The Plymouth-Canton (MI) Community School District saw a nine-percent increase in lunch participation in 2011-12 after deciding to self-operate a program that had been under outside management, reports the Observer & Eccentric. The success also extending to the breakfast program, which saw a two percent increase. In all, Plymouth-Canton served more than 1.7 million school meals and realized $5.3 million in revenues for the year.
