School offers seconds to veggie eaters
To answer complaints about hungry students, district offers free second helpings with caveats.

Oct. 24—Brookline, Mass., elementary students still hungry after eating their recently revised lunch portions can now go back for seconds, as long as they've eaten all fruits and veggies from their first meal.
District administrators say the dustup over new federal food regulations seems to have subsided as students adjust to smaller portions and cafeteria staff provide a compromise to those still feeling hungry in the lower grades. District officials have decided that those elementary students who feel the portions are still too small are allowed to return for seconds at no extra cost, as long as they finish their first serving in full.
