School Kitchens Dominate County's Health Awards

Local school kitchens won most of the Health Awards presented by Galveston (TX) County public health officials for running sanitary foodservice operations.

Fifty-four of the county’s cleanest food service establishments in Galveston County (TX) are school cafeterias, reports the Galveston Daily News. Galveston County Health District officials recently presented their 17th annual Gold Ribbon awards to recognize food service establishments that are the best at following state health regulations, and school cafeterias dominated the presentations. The health district regulates all public kitchens in Galveston County.
