School Food Focus, a national collaborative of school districts that seeks to improve school meals, held its 2014 National Gathering in Oakland in early February. The three-day event included a tour of growing fields and produce supplier facilities, a pair of sessions focused on the school meal programs at Oakland and San Francisco Public Schools, a series of roundtable discussions/workshops addressing a series of specific subjects and a vendor showcase with two dozen exhibiting companies showing off a variety of products designed to meet federal school meal regulations while appealing to students.

The meeting drew almost 200 attendees including representatives from districts as far away as Baltimore City and Boston.
