School district brings back in-person student cooking competition

Middle school students at Boulder Valley School District competed in the district’s Middle School Iron Chef Cooking Competition.

Boulder Valley School District in Boulder, Colo., hosted its first in-person Middle School Iron Chef Cooking Competition since the pandemic, Daily Camera reports.

The competition had teams of middle school students compete to create a healthy dish that meets school nutrition requirements and includes a plant-based protein.

The winning dish, jambalaya, will be served in cafeterias throughout the district next school year.
