McNary Heights Elementary School in Umatilla, Ore., has combined physical activity with its Breakfast After the Bell program, the East Oregonian reports.

Students show up to school 40 minutes before class and spend 15 minutes on the playground before heading to their classrooms to eat. Officials say that the participation rate for Breakfast After the Bell is in the “high 90s.”

The school was recently awarded a statewide School Wellness Award for the program. The award came with a $2,500 check that will go toward the school’s wellness initiatives.
