The Litchfield and Casa Grande Elementary School Districts in Arizona use school buses as a kind of summer meal food truck to serve students government subsidized meals, reports the Arizona Republic. Of the estimated 3,000 meals a day served under the program at Litchfield, about 150 are from the bus. Casa Grande, a 7,000-student district with a widely scattered population, serves about a third of its summer meals from buses that navigate specific routes to reach their far-flung customers. The foods are all packaged sack lunches including fruit and vegetables and milk.
