The executive chef for a bistro in the Sacramento (CA) USD's administration headquarters is under fire from the teachers union for his compensation package, reports the Sacramento Bee. The chef, David Edgar, manages the Serna Center Bistro, which serve meals up to 500 meals a day during the school year to the public and also offers catering services. Edgar also consults on school menus for the district and receives more in compensation than the supervisor of nutrition services. The Bistro runs at a loss that is partially offset with federal funds from summer meals it serves to a pair of schools located at the headquarters site.
