Pittsburgh's Peck Named New Head of Boston Schools Foodservice

Boston Public Schools has named Michael Peck its new director of food & nutrition services, succeeding Helen Mont-Ferguson, who retired on January 6th. Peck most recently served as the director of food services for Pittsburgh Public Schools and was previously deputy director of food services for District of Columbia Public Schools. In Pittsburgh, he increased lunch participation by eight percent and breakfast participation by 33 percent.

A Boston area native, Peck began his school food service career in the Brookline (MA) Public School System, where he was the coordinator of food services from 1996 to 1999, and the director of food services from 1999 to 2003.
