Fighting against a 67% increase in the price of school lunches.
January 14, 2013
Jan. 14—The New York citywide Panel for Educational Policy (PEP) has enlisted the support of city Department of Education Chancellor Dennis Walcott against a 67 percent increase in the price of school lunches.
The chancellor backed a resolution calling for him to “engage the mayor and his budget staff” over a proposed increase in the price of a school lunch from $1.50 to $2.50 as part of a plan to close a budget gap by June 30.
