NYC Public Schools will be all in-person next school year

Mayor Bill de Blasio has announced that New York City Public Schools will be offering all in-person instruction this fall, with no option for remote learning, WGN 9 reports. 

De Blasio made the announcement Monday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” 

Parents and guardians will be invited to their children’s schools in June to ask questions and learn more about how the nation's largest school district is keeping students safe. 

New York City Public Schools was one of the first major school districts to offer in-person learning at the start of the current school year. The district ended up suspending its in-person instruction later in the fall as cases surged in the city. In December, it started to slowly reincorporate on-site instruction and has since offered in-person learning at all grade levels.
