Nov. 19—Spencer Taylor is the newly appointed director of nutrition services for Metro Nashville Public Schools and has been with the school district for a little more than a month. He comes to Nashville from Birmingham, Ala., where he was the childhood nutrition director.

Metro Schools offered up some interesting facts about Taylor: His favorite foods are crisp apples, peanut butter and dark chocolate. His favorite food to cook for his own children is whole wheat pancakes. He thinks the hardest part of cooking 12 million meals a year is keeping consistency from school to school and finding the best recipes to suit so many different tastes.
