The Catholic Diocese of Memphis is outsourcing its school nutrition program to Memphis City Schools, reports the Memphis Commercial Appeal. Under terms of the deal, the district will supply breakfast, lunch and light snacks to 12 Diocese schools, including eight inner-city Jubilee schools, from its central production facility in a contract priced at $569,000. Anthony Geraci, who was hired to direct the nutrition services program for Memphis Schools last fall following his successes at improving the nutrition program for the Baltimore City Schools, told the paper that this contract is the first of several he hopes to land with other institutions in the area.
