Kan. high school revamps menu, cafeteria with students' help

Students at Nickerson High School now have more entrees—and more seating options—to choose from during meal times.

With some assistance from students, Nickerson High School has revamped its breakfast and lunch menus, as well as remodeling its cafeteria, reports The Hutchinson News.

Students attending the Nickerson, Kan., school now have more entrees and produce options to choose from, which officials say has led to an uptick in participation and decline in sack lunches.

The redesigned cafeteria includes booths and hightop tables, components of which were built by students as part of their Industrial Arts curriculum. These new seating arrangements have led to more student interaction during meal periods, according to the website.
