The Houston County School District’s nutrition department has hired Morgan Dockery as its new chef.

In her new role, Dockery will oversee 38 cafeterias in the Georgia district and work directly with students to host taste tests, create menus and train managers and kitchen staff on culinary skills.

Dockery has worked in numerous venues in the food industry, from mom and pop bakeries and restaurants to the Ritz Carlton Lodge at Reynolds Plantation in Georgia.

"My work experiences have not only strengthened my skills in my trade, but have also taught me so much about how to work with all types of people,” Dockery said in a statement. "I love food, and I love to serve others. I am excited to be a part of Houston County’s team. I cannot wait to see the fruits of our labor and its positive effects on the younger generations.”
