Florida schools recognized by USDA for best practices

School honored for innovation with its snack pack breakfast program.

Dec. 5—To increase student participation in Pasco Schools’ breakfast program in Fla., Food and Nutrition Department staff came up with an idea: the snack pack.

And they recently were recognized nationally for their creativity.

Pasco School’s Food and Nutrition Department was selected for an award in the USDA’s 19th annual Best Practices Awards in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP) and Food Distribution Program (FDP).
