Tim Cipriano is resigning his position as director of food services for the New Haven (CT) Public Schools effective September 14, 2012, in order to take up responsibilities as director of food services for the Guilford (CT) Public Schools. Cipriano characterizes the move as a personal decision based on what is best for his family. He had received considerable attention for the improvements he had instituted in his four years heading New Haven's school dining program, leading its conversion to self-operation after it had been outsourced for many years. Cipriano began his school foodservice career with the Bloomfield (CT) Schools in 2006 after a career spent in the commercial restaurant industry.
