As locally sourced food continues to gain steam on school campuses, a new grant may help connect students at Plumas Unified School District with local farmers.

The district announced Tuesday that it will receive a $45,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm to School Program, which it will use to develop a five-year plan to expand the production greenhouse and existing school gardens to all 13 schools in the district, impacting more than 2,000 students, reports Plumas County News.
