Helen Mont-Ferguson, director of food & nutrition services for Boston Public Schools, has been reassigned to the district wellness department after inspectors found 280 cases of outdated food in 40 different district cafeterias, reports the Boston Herald. The revelation was the second time in a month that past-expiration product has been discovered in district kitchens.

In a related development, one city councilor charged that the district spent $73,000 last year to rent a storage facility while continuing to order the same items even as some of what it had on hand reached their expiration dates.
