The Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education has appointed David Binkle head of the district's foodservice division, succeeding Dennis Barrett, who retired earlier this year, reports the Los Angeles Daily News. Binkle had been serving as interim director for the division that serves some 650,000 meals daily to 618,000 students in 763 district schools. He is a certified executive chef who joined LAUSD five years ago as deputy director of foodservices after serving as director of dining services for California State University at Fresno.
