Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has teamed up with iHeartMedia and nonprofit Common Threads to host a week full of culinary and nutrition programing at Brookside School 54 in Indianapolis.

Over the course of the week, students, families and staff will be able to participate in hands-on cooking classes and other nutrition education activities.

The programming was designed to further "enhance" the food pantry at the school, which was installed by Anthem last year.

“In addition to this expanded initiative at Brookside School, our parent company’s foundation has committed $10 million to food as medicine programs in just the last two-and-a-half years across Indiana,” Beth Keyser, president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, said in a statement. “It’s great to be back here, working alongside community partners as we deepen our commitment to food as medicine and addressing food insecurity in the state we call home.”

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield previously worked with iHeartMedia and Common Threads to bring food-as-medicine programs to three schools in Los Angeles.
