Amherst-Pelham Regional Public Schools in Amherst, Mass., is introducing new menu items to students this school year, Daily Hampshire Gazette reports.

New options such as a taco station and Mediterranean salad will be available when students return to class. The district is also using a $30,600 grant provided by the USDA to bring in local ingredients, reduce waste, add more cultural diversity to the menu and incorporate food and nutrition education into classrooms and teaching gardens.

Some of the staff will also be attending a farm-to-school training this year to learn how to incorporate food education into the curriculum.
