With a new school year comes new ways of boosting student interest in campus dining, and this year, food trucks continue to be a buzz-driver. Take a look at three trucks that have recently made a mark on their respective campuses, or are about to.
The Grub Slinger
The University of Southern Mississippi recently rolled out a breakfast and lunch truck that serves up offerings such as tacos, pulled pork paninis and Chicago-style hot dogs, reports the Hattiesburg American. The truck will primarily serve from spots on campus where students don’t have convenient dining hall access, and its whereabouts will be promoted on social media.
Rolling Lion
Penn State University Dining last week began teasing the dawn of a new food truck on campus via Twitter. The truck, dubbed Rolling Lion, comes one year after the school debuted the Behrend Clipper food truck on its Behrend campus. The Clipper offers breakfast and lunch five days a week and late-night options on weekends, according to OnwardState.com.
Food 4 Thought
Austin Independent School District recently debuted its third food truck, Food 4 Thought. The truck will serve the same items offered in the Texas district’s cafeterias, including pizza burgers and Asian BBQ Chicken Sandwiches, at the same prices, and it will travel to different schools throughout the year, reports KVUE.
