University of Southern California Hospitality is reopening the Edmondson Faculty Center at the school's Health Science Campus. The only full service restaurant on the university’s medical school campus, the Edmondson is a popular location for faculty and staff and also a retreat for hospital visitors and guests.

A major renovation had updated the old restaurant, which had been reminiscent of a traditional 1970s club with dark wood elements, stained glass windows, oversize furniture and dim lighting, into a light, contemporary and fresh space. In addition, the membership component has been eliminated and the restaurant is now open to everyone even though the name and logo will retain the “Faculty Center” moniker as a nod to its rich history. Also new are the expanded hours as the Edmondson will be open for breakfast, lunch, and after work lounge hours.

The new menu designed by Chef Bruce Mayer boasts a diverse entrée selection of farm-to-fork entrées that are health consciously prepared using high-quality ingredients, local produce and responsibly raised meats.

“This is a dramatic improvement over what it used to be," says Kris Klinger, USC Hospitality’s Vice President of Retail Operations. "It is brighter and lighter and the food is amazing. Using Moreton Fig [USC Hospitality’s signature restaurant at UPC] as an inspiration, we now have equal offerings on both campuses. Guests will enjoy Moreton Fig specials and signature selections appearing at The Edmondson."
