The University of South Carolina will discontinue all-you-can-eat board dining in favor of a more healthful menu with defined portions under a new initiative called Healthy Carolina. The school will also place more restrictions on where individuals may smoke while increasing opportunities and venues for exercising (including the campus’s new 192,000-square-foot, $49.2 million Strom Thurmond Wellness & Fitness Center). It’s all part of an effort to reduce obesity and increase health among staff and students.
