Texas Tech University has named Kirk Rodriguez its new managing director of Hospitality Services. Rodriguez has been with the university since 1993, working his way through food services in various support and leadership roles, most recently as associate director of retail & operation.

Under his direction, the department experienced substantial growth as dining transitioned from a traditional all-you-care-to-eat dining program into a retail driven component encompassing over 30 plus outlets and concepts.

In his new role, Rodriguez will be responsible for all Hospitality Services food service operations, financial and business services, IT, marketing, training, foodservice facilities maintenance, as well as projects and development.

Among his accomplishments, Rodriguez served an instrumental role in various Hospitality Services renovation and expansion projects, most notably The Common’s by United Supermarkets, which opened in the fall of 2012. He is currently overseeing the Campus West dining location project, which is slated for completion fall of 2014.
