Dec. 14—Sodexo has named Calvin Johnson (C.J.) president of the hospitals division, effective Jan. 1 2010.

Johnson currently serves as division vice president for hospitals in the Western region. He is succeeding Dick Desrochers, who has accepted a new senior leadership position with Sodexo. The hospitals division is the largest operating unit within Sodexo Inc., the company’s North American operations, which operates at more than 1,100 locations.

“C.J.’s leadership and keen understanding of how our services solutions impact the quality of people’s lives [have] helped to drive our revenues and overall results,” Patrick Connolly, healthcare market presidents and chief operating officer, said in a press release.

According to Sodexo, Johnson’s team has made almost $140 million in revenue while maintaining a 96% client retention rate during Johnson’s 20 years with Sodexo.
