The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene closed a popular off-campus eatery near New York University that had been accepting university meal plan points, reports the Washington Square News. Cafe University had received a total of 145 violation points—three times the number needed to shut an establishment down according to Department regulations.

Cafe University is one of 175 private retail ops in Greenwich Village that can accept campus cash debit card credits from NYU. It is not operated by or affiliated with NYU Dining.
