Milkshakes served with a genuine smile make great medicine for many patients at California Pacific Medical Center Davies San Francisco, CA.

Bernard Brown has worked in CPMC Davies food services for 27 years, and about 10 years ago, started making customized milkshakes with a healing power. Patients who are recovering from various treatments sometimes aren't hungry for anything, Brown says, but often times, a milkshake sounds pretty good.

Brown can make milkshakes in an array of flavors, personalized for each patient.

“But it's more than just delivering milkshakes,” says Sharon Rooney, food service director. “It's a comfort thing. Bernie has one of those amazing personalities.”
