To help employees make healthier nutritional choices throughout the workday, Baylor’s employee wellness program has removed sugary drinks and fatty food from cafeterias and vending machines and made it easier for employees to eat healthy meals at home through healthy “minute meals” available for purchase in cafes that can be cooked in less than 15 minutes.

Dining options across the Baylor Medical Center-Dallas complex include the Truett Café and Espresso Impressions coffee/pastry shop in the Truett Hospital, the Atrium Market in Roberts Hospital, Café Charles and the Latte Hope coffee bar in the Sammons Cancer Center and A Beat Above Café in the Hamilton Heart & Vascular Hospital.

Truett Café is a full cafeteria offering salad and sushi bars, grilled and cold sandwiches, wraps, home-style soups, hot entrees and side dishes, desserts, snacks and hot and cold beverages. The fare includes branded Chick-fil-A food items and Starbucks coffee drinks.

Atrium Market and Beat Above Café are market-type outlets offering hot and cold meals along with desserts, snacks and hot and cold beverages while Café Charles serves a healthful menu in a relaxing environment that includes balcony seating.

The patient dining operation uses a traditional tray service system.
