Somerset (NJ) Medical center has formed a partnership with the New Jersey Dept. of Agriculture to menu Jersey Fresh locally grown produce in all parts of its onsite foodservice operations, reports the Star Ledger. The medical center introduced Jersey Fresh product into its cafeteria menu in May and will now expand that to patient meals as well under the partnership. The menus will incorporate not only locally grown produce but also local products like meats, seafood and cheeses. In addition, a weekly farmers market will kick off on the medical center’s grounds in late June.
