Healthcare trends: An upgraded coffee bar, Food Network chef shares recipes
August 8, 2019
As we look back at the trends in health care dining in September, one of the biggest hits was a new Starbucks-branded coffee kiosk in the lobby of South Georgia Medical Center. The dining team at this Morrison Healthcare account had been looking for a way to give the ho-hum lobby a lift but also to turn the space into a revenue-generator. The coffee kiosk met those goals.
Morrison Healthcare also notched another top health care story this month with celebrity chef Bal Arneson’s participation in the contractor’s teaching kitchen, where she educated food service employees on healthy Indian food for hospitals.
Other trending stories included a look at this month’s Innovator of the Month, Jefferson Health in Philadelphia, which is making a healthy dining more accessible and Regional Health Rapid City Hospital in South Dakota opening an outdoor smoker during a café makeover, which has helped boost engagement and sales.
