Central Health—a healthcare network in Austin, Texas—is looking to add a public market to one of its campuses, Eater Austin reports.
The market would feature vendors that offer healthy, fresh food, as well as teaching kitchens and exercise classes. Officials would like to incorporate a mix of local and ethnic cuisines.
Central Health is working with a nonprofit to design a business plan and interview local chefs. The network also plans to introduce food trucks in the near future to measure public interest and promote the market.
Along with patients and healthcare workers, officials are hoping that the space will attract community members from nearby businesses and homes.
