Former University of North Carolina Hospitals Director of Dining Services Angelo Mojica has joined Cleveland Clinic as senior enterprise director of food & nutrition services.
Recipient of the IFMA Silver Plate Award in the Healthcare category in 2013, Mojica will oversee the in-house dining programs at the system’s main facility and adjacent children’s hospital that will be operated by Sodexo under a new contract that started earlier this month, as well as dining and nutrition services operations at the system’s eight regional hospitals and its outposts in Florida, which are operated by Aramark.
Holder of both Certified Executive Chef and Registered Dietitian credentials, Mojica was responsible for all food service and clinical operations at the 829-bed UNC Hospitals academic medical center which serves some 650,000 patient meals and $12 million in retail sales on 2 million transactions annually.
Among his innovations were a restaurant delivery program that melded the hospital's retail branded concepts into the patient room service dining menu, which won an FM Best Concept Award in 2013. He also oversaw three additional facilities in the UNC Health Care system.
