An ESPN survey of the nation's 107 professional sports venues found that 28 percent had serious health violations at their concessions. The highest rates were at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC, and Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL, each with 100% of their vendors receiving critical violations from health inspectors. American Airlines Arena and Sun Life Stadium, both in Miami, were next, each with 93%. The best scores (0%, or no critical violations) were posted by Air Canada Centre and Rogers Centre, both in Toronto; Scotiabank Place in Ottawa; the United Center, U.S. Cellular Field and Wrigley Field, all in Chicago; Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA; Scottrade center in St. Louis; and Nassau Veterans Coliseum on Long Island, NY.
