Coshocton Hospital to renovate cafeteria
The Ohio hospital’s new digs will include stations for pizza, grilling and sautéing.

COSHOCTON, Ohio—Officials at Coshocton Hospital hope a renovation of the hospital cafeteria and overhaul of its menu for visitors and patients will be seen as a positive.
The main cafeteria is estimated to be closed from Aug. 13 to Sept. 2 for upgrades, including fresh paint, new flooring, enhanced lighting and food stations for pizza, grilling and sauteing.
During the closure, serving and seating will be in the large dining room at the west end of the cafeteria. A hot meal selection, hamburgers, hot dogs and grab-and-go items, such as sandwiches and salads, will be available.
A revamped menu at the cafeteria also will coincide with new food choices for patients.
Director of Dietary Services Don Palmer and new full-time dietician Krista Mathews are working on a new system for person-to-person meal orders targeted to be in place by early December. Mathews also will serve as a "watchdog," hospital spokeswoman Mary Ellen Given said, for healthful options in the cafeteria.
