Shop24 Global LLC has signed a deal with University Auxiliary Services at Albany for the placement of two Shop24 stores on the campus of the State University of New York at Albany (SUNY-Albany).

“This is the seventh SUNY campus and ninth store you will find in the State University of New York System,” says Jason Santoro, vice president of sales for Shop24 Global.

SUNY-Albany enrolls more than 17,000 students in nine schools and colleges and is the oldest the SUNY System.

Originally operated in Europe, the automated Shop24 dispenses a variety of items (snacks, cleaning supplies, health and beauty products and even full meals) in a fraction of the time it takes to shop at a traditional store. Self-contained, refrigerated and designed to enable 24/7 purchasing capabilities, Shop24 stands over nine feet-tall and offers up to 200 traditional convenience store items ranging in weight from 1 ounce to 8 pounds. It accepts different methods of payment, including cash, credit cards, debit cards, student meal cards, and supplemental nutrition assistance program (SNAP) cards 24 hours a day.

“UAlbany is undergoing major renovations within our retail food service environment and we believe Shop24 will help provide the 24hr retail needs students require,” says Stephen Pearse, executive director of Auxiliary Services. “We look forward to enhancing the services we provide our customers on a daily basis and are extremely optimistic about the reception and results these new additions will achieve on our campus.”

“It is great to see how well Shop24 Stores are accepted by students on Higher Education campuses” says Santoro. “These stores will enhance the existing food service program especially during those late night cravings."
