The National Association of College & University Food Services (NACUFS) has announced the winners of its 7th annual “Best in the Business” Campus C-Store Contest. They are…

• (co-winners) Village Market at Cal Poly Corp and Sisu at Pennsylvania State University (The Big Idea award);

• Scotty’s at the University of California-Riverside (Marketing & Merchandising award);

• Commons Marketplace/Salads by Design at Bowling Green (OH) State University (Foodservice Application award);

• Wildcatessen at the University of New Hampshire (Updating Your C-Store award).

The winners will be recognized at the NACUFS national conference in Milwaukee in July and will also be profiled during the Neighborhood Market Retail Workshop preceding the opening of the conference on July 7-8, 2009.

Open to all institutional members of NACUFS, this year’s Best in the Business awards competition drew 38 entries. Judging was conducted by a three-person panel composed of a university foodservice director, trade magazine editor and a representative of the contest sponsor, PepsiCo.
