Fast-casual Zoup! makes its college campus debut.
ROCHESTER, Mich — Zoup!, a Michigan-based fast-casual soup concept, recently made its college campus debut at 18,000-student Oakland University, a Chartwells account.
Zoup! will be located at the university’s Oakland Center’s food court, where nearly 15,000 people pass through daily, according to a company press release. Zoup!’s Web site said it focuses on providing high-quality soup made with natural ingredients and also includes healthful options such as vegetarian, dairy-free, low-fat and gluten-free offerings.
“We’re very excited about this new opportunity for Zoup!,” Eric Ersher, CEO and founder, said in the press release. “Not only is it our first license arrangement, it’s the first time we’ve been able to offer health-conscious students and campus employees the fresh, nutritious, convenient and affordable meals they want, in the form of a brand they already know and embrace.”
Andrew Willows, resident district manager for Chartwells at Oakland, added, “The quality of the soup, the variety, the brand recognition—it just seemed to be the right thing to do. There’s been tremendous excitement, especially since we put up the ‘coming soon’ signs.”
