Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., is adding more water refill stations and encouraging students to use complimentary refillable containers as it adjusts to a ban on the sale of bottled water by the school’s cafeterias.

The advocacy group that convinced Vassar’s student government last spring to outlaw the high-margin product says it intends to push for further limitations on water sales.  The organization, Tap That, wants the ban extended to vending areas and off-campus events.  The faculty and administration are being encouraged to bypass water coolers and drink tap water instead.
