The team is using the kitchen and ballroom at the nearby Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk to prepare and serve the meals which include breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some of the meals are also delivered to 20 shelters across the county where other displaced residents are staying.

An additional 300 meals per day are also being served to UC Santa Cruz staff members and their families who are being temporarily housed in a residential building in downtown Santa Cruz.
