Sweetgreen and FoodCorps’ Reimagining School Cafeterias Initiative pilot is expanding to 15 cafeterias across the country this school year.

The initiative between the fast-casual chain and the nonprofit is aimed at improving child nutrition in cafeterias.

Sweetgreen and FoodCorps began testing the pilot last spring at three schools. This year, the pilot will reach 6,500 students in Arkansas, Georgia, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Oregon and Virginia.

Officials hope to expand the program again to 50 schools at the start of the 2020 school year.
