Summer meal delivery program receives funding to continue operations for 5th year

The Baylor University Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty’s Meals to You program will continue for a fifth year thanks to $7.2 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). 

The program began as a pilot in 2019 as a way to deliver shelf-stable meals to rural students' homes in Texas during the summer months when school is not in session. 

During the pandemic, Baylor worked with its partners, including Chartwells K12, to temporarily expand the program to include 43 states and Puerto Rico. 

This year, the program will operate in Texas, New Mexico, Utah and Alaska.
