PEKIN, Ill. — Kids at L.E. Starke Primary School in Pekin are pumped.

Cafeteria lunch food isn't always praised, but Thursday was different.

The kids are getting a brand new item on the menu, “pigs in a blanket, and it's all because of a letter from a first grader.

The kids in Miss Belcher's class were learning about "how-to" stories and writing to an audience.

Jackson Morss' audience was the school cafeteria.

He knows how to make “pigs in a blanket”, and figured he's share his knowledge with the cooks, so everyone could enjoy his favorite meal.
